Alec Lawrence is the founder and leader of the current Brotherhood of Mortis. Like those who came before him, he found a journal and spellbook of one of the members of a previous incarnation of the Brotherhood. Alec Lawrence is both a skilled scientist and a necromancer (the most adept necromancer of the Brotherhood). He has created a number of unique abominations, including scientific zombies, the Huskless, the Knarled, and Alec's harpies.[1]

Alec has also undergone chemical augmentation himself, enabling him to go into a Mr. Hyde like transformation. However, he is unaware of the instability this has left on his mind, or the potential for him to transform during times of traumatic stress.[2]

Alec is also responsible for turning John Morgan into The Render.[3]

Stats

Lawful Evil, male human necromancer 6 (Anatomist). The anatomist, and many of Alec's spells, come from The Complete Book of Necromancers.[4]

Inspiration

The Brotherhood of Mortis and related entities were inspired by the Playstation 1 Video Game Nightmare Creatures by Activision/Kalisto.[5]
