The Bowlyn is an invisible, ghost-like creature who haunts ships. It is the angry spirit of a sailor who has returned for vengeance.[1]
The Bowlyn acts like a poltergeist, staging accidents and wreaking havoc on the ship. It can stay invisible or manifest itself visibly as it so chooses. They do not manifest immediately, their spirits reappear around the anniversary of their death. A ship that is haunted by a bowlyn can permanently rid itself of the haunting via the desperate measure of running itself aground.[1]
Bowllyn can be found in the following domains: Dementlieu[2], Mordent[3], the Nocturnal Sea[4], and the Sea of Sorrows[5]
