Ardal Ray, the father of Alanik Ray, was known as a successful merchant and businessman of Neblus. He also was a secret trader in the black market and a dealer of narcotics. Ardal's wealth allowed his son Alanik to grow up enjoying the luxuries of the upper class. However, Alanik Ray eventually discovered his father's activities and faced him with the accusations. In response, Ardal disinherited Alanik. The Baron of Neblus, whom was purportedly involved in Ardal's illicit ventures, hypocritically indicted Ardal for tax evasion and drug dealing. Alanik Ray made sure Ardal's criminal enterprises were dissolved before leaving Neblus for good.
