Captain Roger Mournsworth

In life, Captain Roger Mournsworth was the callous but jovial captain of the HMS Esra, a ship possibly jokingly named after Ezra, for he was known chuckling and saying under his breath, “By the deep, she’s a fine lass, my lady of the Mists.” He had a dark sense of humor that lent itself to cruel jokes and pranks. That and his proclivity for puns alienated those unable to stand his humor or abuse. Rumors spoke of his uncertain ancestry, which might have included parentage from Darkon, Sri Raji, the Vistani, or even fiends. Another rumor tells he was born to a woman held in an insane asylum. Captain Walford Halloway recalled that Moursnworth's knowledge of the sea was uncanny, hisantics caused him to be cursed many times, which might contributed to why he rose after death as a jolly roger.
