A character with levels in the Charlatan prestige class is highly skilled with deception, confidence games, and verbal manipulation, so much so they can approach supernatural levels to mimic certain spells like Charm Person. However, a charlatan's confidence games sometimes run the risk of people who resist his attempts, thereby bringing trouble to his door or spreading rumors about his antics to give him a bad reputation.[1]
