The Scourge Prestige Class[1] is a professional torturer. As such the Scourge is highly knowledgeable of pain and interrogation. The first Scourges got their start in a breakaway group of torturers from Pharazia that escaped and migrated elsewhere. These torturers became the first Scourges' Guild. Today, Sans Merci is one of the most known of these guilds.
Scourges gain a number of special abilities. They are proficient in a number of Exotic Weapons, including the poker and the cat-o-nine-tails. They also learn to make use of pain in their unarmed strikes, cast a limited number of spells, mask their emotions, and even Detect Thoughts.
Prerequisites
- Alignment: any non-good
- Base Attack Bonus: +4
- Skills: Heal 4 ranks, Intimidate 4 ranks
- Feats: Endurance, Improved Unarmed Strike, Iron Will, Jaded
- Special: Must be accepted as a student by an existing Scourge and undergo a test of enduring torture
