A terrible mist creature that kills its victims by using corrosive sand to strip the flesh from their bones.^[1] One is known to have taken the life of Drake Penarrow and disfigured his brother Dr. Alexander Penarrow, causing the latter to assume the hunt of mist creatures.^[2] The Bleak Road and the Heretic's Egress are two mistways that act as hunting grounds for scarlet storms.^[3]
