Regold Durril was a resident of the Barovian village of Orașnou. Charmed and manipulated by the mysterious entity known as the Voice, Regold murdered his brother Benedek Durril and Benedek's betrothed, Sari Florica,[1] out of envy and the belief that Benedek and Sari didn't belong together.[2] It was all part of the Voice to gain sacrifices as part of a ritualof control over the ghost Graxxygak.[1] However, the ritual failed as the Dark Powers wanted a willing sacrifice- as in, a suicide. The Voice attempted to gain this by goading the guilt ridden Regold into killing himself at the Vault of the Royal Dead.[1] Regold slit his own throat[3]. However, Regold may or may not have died and the ritual may or may not have succeeded thanks to the intrusion of adventurers.[4]
