An evolved undead is an undead empowered with a stronger connection to the Negative Energy Plane thanks to many years of existence. Once per century of undeath, there is a tiny chance that an undead's connection to that plane will get stronger (and thus receive the Evolved Undead Template). Evolved undead gain fast healing, a spell-like ability, and other minor statistical improvements which are cumulative with further states of evolution. The increased poweer of the Evolved Undead usually lets it assume a role of social power among its less evolved kindred.[1]
