A slaymate is a child-like undead created through a protector's treachery dooming the protected. The slaymate's aura makes it easier to use metamatic feats with necromantic spells, making practitioners of necromancy view them in high regard. By themselves, slaymates are fairly weak, although their bites inflict a disease called Pale Wasting[1]
