The Emerald Shard was one of the Shards of Light. It along with the Crimson Shard were destroyed by adventurers under manipulation by the Azure Shard. The Azure Shard drained the other Shards' power to escape the Demiplane of Dread (though not for long), becoming the Shard of Darkness.[1]
