formerly a resident of Port-a-Lucine and Chateaufaux, Charles de Tantoine is thee mayor of Villebois and one of the few inhabitants of that community not born there. Charles is also secretly a maledictive loup du noir, having long ago been afflicted with a self induced curse after he made a pact with the Dark Powers to avenge his abuse against his former mastere and teacher in wizardry and then later Charles' own father. Charles is a predatory murderer, but he has succesfully averted suspicion by making the town belief that excessive emotions can bring about lycanthropy. As such, he makes others- frequently strangers- whom display too much emotion the scapegoats for his crimes. Charles uses is a skilled enchanter and uses his spells to assist in his deception[1].
