According to the Diary of Lyron Evensong, vol. 5, Rannow was the personal retainer of Lady Windall. They were both guests of Baron Evensong and thus trapped with him inside of Neverwere Manor. Lady Windall eventually discovered the secret to his permanent destruction: destroying his harpsichord. Desperate to escape, she raised Evensong's own cudgel to destroy it. However, Evensong disarmed her and struck Rannow down. Evensong killed Windall with a dagger to the chest[1]
