First introduced in the Quoth the Raven Issue 29 article Secrets of Shadow, Un-Fire is a form of energy used extensively by the Centurions of the Night.
Un-Fire is described as a self-replenishing energy, eternally devouring itself and regenerating off the power it consumes. In this, it could be described as a perpetuum monile. The energy is further described as being sealed in an unimaginable void, somewhere in the depths of the Mists.
The possibility is suggested that Un-Fire is somehow sentient, though not in any way a mortal could understand, and that it has in fact been imprisoned by the Dark Powers for unspecified sins.
Members of the Centurion of the Night prestige class are noted to be able to channel Un-Fire from the void by sacrifing spells, spell slots or psionic power points.
