Elendighedmark ("Plain of Misery") lies in northeastern Nova Vaasa. Its northern frontier is the Forgotten Hills of Darkon; its eastern frontier is the Dnar River; its southern frontier is the Vaugn Dnar River to the east and then the Borchava River to the west; and its western frontier is the Vaesen Foothills and the Wormwood. The plain is fertile being watered by the Borchava River, the Little Borchava River, the Vaugh Dnar River and the Trished River and by rain owing to the disappearance of the barrier that was Malkovian Balinoks. The grass, where not grazed, is lush and grows waist-high, making it ideal for plains cats. The Gedfode ("goat-foots") are native to the rockier western reaches of the Elendighedmark.[1] The eastern half of the plain falls within the Heartland Duchy of the Bolshnik family. The western half of the plain falls within the Borchava Duchy of the Hiregaard family.
