An event that occurs on a new moon is not to be be mistaken for an event that occurs on the new moon. The latter occurs at every new moon, for example the transformation into a werewolf of an individual afflicted with lycanthropy. whereas the former occurs on a given new moon, for example the first new moon after the summer solstice.
