The Council of Brilliance, or Conseil Éclat in High Mordentish, is the governing body that advises the Lord-Governor, currently Marcel Guignol, in ruling the state of Dementlieu. Every councilor has an area that they focus on such as the arts, defense, industry, social welfare, etc. They are governed by a web of political intrigue.
They meet formally at least once a month in the Palais Dirigeante (Ruling Palace) in the Government quarter of Port-a-Lucine. There they handle the business of government, making laws, handling important trials and so forth. They also allow a select few, invaribly nobles, to make requests to the government.
Every three months the Lord-Governor holds a feast at an opulent location for a select few chosen by the council. These feasts often coincide with a major artistic event.
The council is currently headed by Dominic d'Honaire.
