Siegfried Grymig was born in Barovia in 658 BC. By the time of his marriage to Camille Dilisnya in 681 BC, he was a minor Barovian boyar. He moved to Mordent to join her. Three years later Camille discovered that Siegfried was having an affair with Maria Diazi and she poisoned to death the pair of them in what would soon prove to be the seminal event that gave birth to Borca. The Mordentish authorities failed to solve the mystery of the murders, although the truth of the matter is now an open secret. As a precaution, the parents of Camille sent her from Mordent to distant relatives in Invidia. En route, she was seized by the Mists and Borca was formed with her as its Darklord.
