Anika Amarant
The daughter of Paul Amarant, head of the Falkovnian military academy, Anika grew up wealthy and wanting for nothing. Until the time when she was in her early 20s, she was considered by many to be...well...an Aristocratic, spoiled snob, but one highly skilled in business, trade, and diplomatic talks...that changed however one day when she witnessed brutality at its worst -- the slaying of her younger brother by someone she could not identify. After that, she realized how dire the situation was in her homeland and that she needed a purpose beyond being a mere Aristocrat, but she also knew that doing so with vengeance would help nothing. This led her to learning the specialist ways of the Courtier in order to further allow her to aid others (and of course herself), and later at the age of 23, to join the women's empowerment and military team of Kara's Daughters.
Over the next 2 years, Anika gained extreme reputation throughout Falkovnia and even into some surrounding countries. This aided her when the time of the Census Day attack came upon them, and Kara Drakov was in danger. Kara had somehow had been mentally affected by some outside force, and needed help. Anika, with the aid of a few others from Kara's Daughters, managed to get Kara out of Falkovnia and to a specialist in Lamordia, just north of Falkovnia, an Oneromancer named Karl Bower, known for his skills in dream walking and such. Because of Anika's bravery, Kara was recently able to return to Falkovnia and, with a plea to her father, Kingfuher Vlad Drakov, maintained her citizenship and was restored to her rightful place.
While in snow storm-ridden Lamordia, however, Anika spotted an injured and sick young snow owl that seemed to have been...well...stitched together. This awoke something in Anika and, taking the owl into her care as a friend, she now is learning the path of the ranger in order to better aid her country and fellow sisters of Kara's Daughters.
