Described as fairly feeble for one of the ancient dead, the Bog Monster was nonetheless strong enough to be beyond the reach of the woodsmen it terrorized. In life, the Bog Monster was a bandit who was lured into a trap set by some villagers in the bogs. He was slain and interred within the bogs, where his body became naturally preserved and rose as a bog mummy.[1]
