Jackalweres are wicked supernatural jackals capable of assuming human form or the form of a jackal-human hybrid.[1] Their shapechanging powers are less precise than those of doppelgangers, jackalweres cannot duplicate the shape of specific, existing individuals. Jackalweres can choose three different traits when changing to a different form, such as gender, build, or level of attractiveness. A jackalwere can return to a specific shape it has assumed before, but it has a limited amount it can keep in its "shape memory".[2] Regardless of the form chosen, a jackalwere can cause people to fall asleep with but a gaze.[1][3]
Although jackals prefer warmer climates and may be encountered with jackalweres, jackalweres themselves are typically found in lands of temperate climate.[1]Cite error: Closing </ref> missing for <ref> tag[4] Farelle[5], Kartakass[6], and Har'Akir.[7] Jackalweres also maintain a concealed presence in Paridon, but their numbers are slowly increasing[8]
