Goblins are identified in the minds of many with Tepest where they are infamous for ambushing travellers, but they are found elsewhere such as Darkon and Verbrek (in the region that was formerly Arkandale).[1] Caliban births occur among this species and surviving individuals typically rise to positions of leadership (use hobgoblin statistics).[2] Goblins, and goblins alone, have achieved a measure of control over goblin beasts, which they use as guards and mounts.[2] Goblins in the Land of Mists excel at trapmaking rather than riding (a +2 racial bonus for Craft (Trapmaking) is substituted for the racial bonus for Ride).[2] Spellcasters tend to be female, either adepts or, more rarely, clerics.[2] Hags intimidate and exploit goblins to their dark ends, sometimes nurturing adepts.
