The Council of Brilliance, or Conseil Éclat, in High Mordentish is the governing body that advises the Lord-Governor, currently Marcel Guignol, in ruling the nation of Dementlieu. Every Councilor has an area that they focus on such as the arts, defense, industry, social welfare, etc. They are governed by a web of political intrigue.
They meet formally at least once a month in the Palais Dirigeante or Ruling Palace in the Government quarter of Port-a-Lucine. There they handle the business of government, making laws, handling important trials and so forth. They also allow a select few to make requests to the government by the nobility.
Every three months the Lord Governor holds a feast at an opulent location for a select few chosen by the Council. These feasts often coincide with a major artistic event of some sort.
The Council is currently headed by Dominic d'Honaire.
