A werestirge^[1] is an unusual type of lycanthrope in that its phenotype is not of an animal but rather a stirge, a type of magical beast. Werestirges generally mate with their own and live in pack-like social structures. More rarely, a solitary werestirge or a small, isolated community of werestirges may be found. They generally prefer forests or caves for lairs because of the concealing and sheltering properties these environs can provide.
