These innocuous-looking but highly carnivorous plants are known to be encountered in the following domains: Barovia[1], Forlorn[2], Invidia[3], Mordent[4], Sithicus[5], 
Souragne[6], and Valachan[7]. They often can be encountered serving as guardians.

Crawling ivy gained a measure of noteriety after Julia Fyrehaaven applied the plant to the task of killing her husband, a professor at the University of Il Aluk. Professor Abelhous Nicholsi was also attacked, but he not only survived his encounter with the plant but his subsequent investigation of the matter exposed the crime. Spurred by the episode, Doctor Nicholsi would subsequent under take a study of dread plants.
Among many other dread plants, crawling ivy can be found in abundance in Murillia, sometimes with high sentience but evil alignment.[8]
