The Stone was a qabal that arose during the high point of King Arthur's rule of Camelot. Merlin is all but guaranteed to have been its leader. Throughout the Dark Ages a number of such qabals as the Stone would become united by Merlin and other similar leaders to strike against the Red Death and its minions. They achieved some considerable degree of success^[1], but by the 10th century, the unity Merlin and his cohorts had strived for was lost.
