The Black Chapel lies beneath the Veidrava Salt Mine and is reputed to be older than it. It and the salt shadow that were said to inhabit it were the stuff of legend and myth to the miners of Veidrava Salt Mines. However, the truth of its existence and its infestation with salt shadows was all too real. Ogier and Kern discovered this too late when "Ambrose" lured them into a salt shadow ambush.[1]
The chapel is where Azrael Dak performed the ritual that caused the Hour of Screaming Shadows when it was interrupted by Ganelon. It is haunted by salt shadows.[2]
