The elfshot, also referred to as the shadowreft, have had their shadow taken (and with it, their personality, skills, and much of their soul) taken by the Arak to be made into changelings, leaving behind a living husk that goes through the motions of their former selves' daily rituals largely oblivious to what is going on around them.[1]
