In the Saga of Pavel, Heir to the Sun, Pavel had to best the Fourth Guardian of Darkness in order to get the sun piece he needed to recover his inheritance. The Fourth Guardian of Darkness was actually a field filled with especially bloodthirsty ghouls. Pavel defeated the latter by tossing the blood-ridden pelt of the Third Guardian of Darkness into the field, causing the ghouls to go berserk and turn on each other. Pavel then slew the final ghoul.[1]
