According to Esmeralda Vicushev, Desperation Road is a secret path through Forlorn that the Vistani travel only with permission from Azenwrath, but for a dangerous price. On the way through, the Vistani must camp in the middle of the night and face a danger set forth by the forest. If they brave it, they can pass, but if they fail, at least one of their number will die.[1]
