The climatic aria of Luther Bedarik's the Soulless Crown, in which Grandfather Wolf (here used as an allegorical figure for Harkon Lukas) expresses his sense of betrayal and final defeat at his two back-stabbing children before facing exile. Ironically, Harkon Lukas reframed its meaning entirely to defeat Bedarik in the meistersinger contest of 743 BC[1], thereby causing Bedarik to flee from public life.[2]
