Vid was an oni from Faerun in the service of Esmae Amarantha. Vid was drawn into the Mists with the Vanishing Hills as Esmae began drawing Faerunian lands into the Mists. Lacking knowledge of the place about him, Vid threw in with Esmae. To help Vid dispatch some intruding adventurers at Boszórkan Keep, Esmae gave Vid a magic toy capable of transforming into a giant ape. Vid named it Bertock.[1]
