The Crimson Death Epidemic

The Crimson Death Epidemic was a lethal plague that struck Darkon in the autumn of 688 BC and killed an estimated 1 out of every 5 Darkonians. It is thought to have originated in the Boglands, though how it originated is unknown. Though on the decline by the spring of 689 BC, the Crimson Death still remains a threat to adventurers who trespass against the tombs of the sick. For stats, see Gazetteer II.

Among its victims were Geordin and Katalia, of the same family, and Helga, the great-aunt of Rudolph van Richten’s whom he tried, but failed, to save.
