Originally the sole Darklord of Conquista, as his sins caused it to take form in the Demiplane of Dread. To his immense chagrin, he is now only one of four Darklord candidates, and he must win the Dread Election to be able to wield his full power.
Background
Born in Prime Material Conquista, Cliffton chafed at his mundane life as a gas station attendant, yet refused to make the effort to better his life. As the only thing he took pride in was his young and beautiful wife, Cliffton erupted in rage when a Hombre Valiente tried to seduce her and assaulted the man, landing himself in jail and facing stiff punishment. When his wife secured his release by sleeping with the Hombre Valiente in question and suggested she might now finally conceive, Cliffton took this as an insult of his manhood. He beat his wife unconscious and left town to find a new life elsewhere.
