Transplantation is the replacement with their like of the tissues or organs of living creatures and as such excludes golems and undead as recipents. It is very far from being a reputable science in the Land of Mists save for in Bluetspur where even brain transplantation is not beyond the competences of the biomancers of that fell realm. Dr. Victor Mordenheim has achieved comparable results, but the shadow of the Dark Powers hangs over his work such that his experimental methods do not admit of repetition by others. Emil Bollenbach has produced lesser results, transplanting successfully appendages (fingers, hands, feet and legs) and sense organs (ears and eyes), but his madness precludes a dissemination of his innovative methods. Frantisek Markov may not be capable of brain transplantation, but he is capable of extensive and extremely radical, interspecies transplantation, but with the undesirable consequence of transforming the subject into a broken one. It is unclear whether he actually has the competence to effect an intraspecies transplantation devoid of this undesirable consequence. In fact transplantation wouldn't be a science at all outside of Bluetspur were it not for the Chiurgeon, not that chiurgeons are especially reputable outside of Lamordian and university medical research departments.
