The University of Il Aluk in Exile consists of the living remenents of the University of Il Aluk. It was organised professors who had the good fortune to be outside of Il Aluk when the Requiem struck and who have, for various reasons, have not taken employment with other institutions. Professor Abelhous Nicholsi was a chief mover in this effort until his death in 751 BC. It is located in Karg.

The long term mandiate of the institution calls for the reoccupation of its former seat, which is to say the lifting of the Shroud, the retaking of Il Aluk, and presumably, in some sense, the defeat of Death. None of this is proclaimed loudly, but money has been made available in particular for arcane studies which are so defined as to exclude neither necrology nor planar mechanics. Proposed research in these two areas, especially should it be connected with Negative Energy or positive energy or the negative energy plane or Negative Energy Plane, often enough recevies positive replies to requests for funding.
