Puppetworks
The Puppetworks are a remarkably mad and madly remarkable work of clockmaking and mechanical engineering. They occupy much of Tuvache house on the tiny walled estate of Jerretiere in Pont-a-Museau. They are water powered, with a waterwheel installed in a sloping sewar channel. The cost and time required for the construction of the Puppetworks should not be underestimated. They are one of the greatest mechanical achievements in the Land of Mists. Their creator, Madame Araby Tuvache, has reason to be proud. As entertainment, they would be one of the wonders of the known world. As a weapon, they are perhaps the least cost efficient means of inflicting harm in existence, although there is some prospect of provoking horror when it is learnt that each puppet is actually a carefully perserved corpse.
