The Valpurleiche is a type of ghost that sometimes forms when an innocent man or woman is wrongfully hanged for a crime they did not commit.
Valpurleiche are obsessed with finding the living beings that were responsible for their untimely death and kill them. In this regard they are, for all practical purposes, invincible. If they are destroyed by conventional means, they will simply reform later to resume the hunt. Once they find and kill their quarry, they simply rationalize that folks similar to its victim are equally guilty and goes hunting and killing them. They cannot rest unless their innocence has been proven.
