Chateaufaux Militia
The Chateaufaux Militia ensured public safety in Chateaufaux. It was a military organisation and a law enforcement agency. The Chateaufaux Town Jail was its headquarters. It was led by Captain Domini Tisiphanes who was secretly replaced subsequent to the Great Upheaval by an impostor who was in fact a devil. Mayor Henri Melano was likewise replaced by a devil and the pair set to corrupting the local population. The Black Watch was created to this end. It was an elite unit of the town's militia constituted through the promotion of the most corrupt of the extant members. Fortunately, the reign of madness and terror instituted by the devils did not last long and the roles of captain of the militia and mayor were quickly placed back in human hands. A state-wide gendarmerie has since superseded the role of the Chateaufaux Militia which is presumed to have been dissolved.
