Jacob Garvin was the father of the Garvin Family. He was a farmer who lived near Valden in {[Mordent]]. He was married to his wife Matilda Garvin and had two children, Dead Garvin and Betty Garvin. [1]

Jacob's obsessedxenophobia caused him to create the Jacob Garvin Scarecrow in order to keep trespassers away. However, it eventually killed him and the rest of his family save for Betty Garvin.[2]
